COMPLIANCE WATCH
ABOUT

An independent watchdog
for MA contractors.

One small team, no investors, no advertisers. We watch the public records that determine whether your business stays in compliance, and we tell you what they say. That’s the entire product.

Why we exist

Massachusetts general contractors juggle a Construction Supervisor License, a Home Improvement Contractor registration, an LLC annual report, a Workers’ Comp policy, and an EPA Lead-Safe Renovator firm cert — each on a different schedule, each with its own portal, each with its own penalty when missed.

The cheapest miss is $500 a month. The most expensive is a stop-work order. The state will not call you. The portals will not email you. And the deadlines do not move.

We watch all of them on one calendar. Before they hit, we tell you. After they pass, we tell you what just lapsed and how much it costs.

Our methodology

Every finding starts with a public record. We read the official source — the Secretary of State’s corporate database, the DPL trade-license registry, OCABR’s HIC lookup, the DIA Workers’ Comp verification system, the EPA RRP firm registry — and we cite where we read it.

We do not ask the state for a comment. We do not interpret. We report what the record says, when we read it, and what the state charges if it’s wrong. The full source list lives at /sources.

What we don’t do

  • We do not file forms on your behalf.
  • We do not give legal advice.
  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not run advertising on this site.
  • We do not show you your own email address back to you (creepy).

Public records, public service

The data we surface is, by Massachusetts law, public information. You can pull every record we cite for free yourself. Our value is the calendar — one place, every deadline, every dollar exposure, watched continuously. If you would rather pull it yourself, we publish enough source detail at /sources for you to do exactly that.
