Methodology
We query the public business search portal by entity name and identification number. Match scores are computed against state-canonical entity names, with fuzzy fallback for known variants (e.g. business spelling drift, doing-business-as filings). Annual report status is determined by the most recent FILED record vs. the entity's anniversary month.
Massachusetts assesses a $500/month penalty for late annual reports and administratively dissolves entities that remain delinquent for twelve consecutive months. We track both clocks.
